Legislative Turnover in Subnational Parliaments

Portrait

In this research area we investigate legislative turnover in the sub-national parliaments of Switzerland, Austria, and Germany. In examining the strikingly different levels of legislative turnover and explaining parliamentary exits, the focus is on politico-institutional, socio-economic, and socio-demographic factors. The research project is supported financially by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and the German Research Foundation (DFG) and is scheduled to run until December 2013.
